Speak up for housing!
Here's our guide on how to sign up to speak at council on April 22, remotely or in-person.
Speaking at council is fun and easy. Signing up to speak at council on the other hand can be a bit of a challenge. Never fear, we’ve prepared a guide to navigating the sign-up process, to ensure that everyone who wants to speak can have their chance to be heard. Ideally, city clerks would like you to sign up by April 15, though if you are late to the party you will get your five minutes.
The first section is pretty straightforward: confirm that you have read and agree with the privacy and conduct statements. Add in your name, pronunciation if necessary, pronouns and e-mail address.
From there on, use the screenshots below as a guide to the rest of the form. Note that while the form does ask you to choose whether you’ll be speaking in-person or remotely, it’s not set in stone and if your circumstances change you’re free to change how you present.
If you’re really keen, you can submit a presentation but it’s entirely optional. You can leave the comment section blank. Hit submit, and you’re in! You’ll receive an e-mail from the City Clerk’s office a few days before the hearing starts with a panel assignment.
Looking forward to seeing you on April 22. And as always, share this post with someone and bring them along; advocacy is more fun with friends!
